OPERATION DYNAMO
21 May 1940, some 338,000 Allied soldiers were evacuated from Dunkirk under the codename "Operation Dynamo".
85 years on, Ramsgate, a little town on the east side of Kent, is celebrating the event with the departure of about 70 of the surviving private boats representing the 850 which left back in 1940. Here's a few pictures of what took place.
